C & C Electric was opened in 1946, in Shreveport, Louisiana, by the Camus family. My parents, Wayne and Gale Simmons, acquired the company in 2003, and in January, 2019, my wife, Lauren, and I bought the business from them. As part of our expansion efforts, we've rebranded ourselves as C & C Mercantile and Lighting.
We still specialize in repairing and restoring old chandeliers and lamps (I'm an electrician, and I do all the work myself). I also love doing one-of-a-kind fabrications of new fixtures, and I'll even convert everyday objects into light fixtures, like vases, ceramic figurines, and just about anything you can think of. PLUS we've expanded our business' scope. We've always had antique furniture and decor, but we're now including more mid-century modern items, AND fine art, jewellery, "guy stuff," and oddities, as well as housing a creative co-op for LOCAL artists and creatives!
We host tons of events, art receptions, parties, and get-togethers.
We have a coffee bar, with Peter Lyons' small batch, specialty, gourmet coffee, Lyons Pride. He's here most days, serving free samples and doing demonstrations of manual brew techniques.
